For young learners, expressing themselves through art can be a crucial stage in their development, and the artwork they create at this age often become cherished keepsakes. While they have plenty of time to practice and improve their craft, it’s never too early to pick up some of the tried-and-true principles of art and animation.
This introductory workshop for Explorers shows young students the techniques that bring what they see in their mind into the real world through art. Instructors will guide students through the basics of drawing and painting, leading into a better understanding of how to take static images and objects and make them move in animations.
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to combine everything they’ve learned to create basic stop-motion or 2D animated clips.
Projects in this workshop may include: Creating a stop-motion animation with self-painted Hot Wheels cars or storytelling with Lego stop-motion animation tools.
